Important Dates 10/9: Period 2 TOK Journals are due at the beginning of class *Rubrics can be found in the Extras Bin in class; you do need one included and SIGNED when you turn in the journal. No need to get in touch with me to get one, just go in to the room and grab one during the school day tomorrow. Today we finished up Journal #5 with doing one last activity regarding sense perception. Then we watched part of a 60 minutes clip to add to our knowledge.
If absent, in Journal #5:
We talked about sense perception as a way of knowing and the connection to truth. If you were absent, in Journal #5:
1. read and take notes on pages 86-96 in the textbook 2. CREATE two of your own knowledge questions related to the reading 3. answer one of the knowledge questions you created - incorporate at least two things (activities, discussions, readings) we did in class in your answer Possible Extension starters related to Sense Perception: 1. Here is an interesting article from The Atlantic 2. And here is another fascinating article about visual perception! 3. If you have Netflix you could watch Brain Games S2E4 'Don't Be Afraid' to explore how fear can impact sense perception (as suggested by a past TOK student). We tested some of our senses as a class, talked about the experiments we ran yesterday, and talked a bit about upcoming plans. If you were absent, get the notes from someone, and then write your answers/reflections in your journal. Also, watch this fascinating TedTalk about visual perception and take some notes in Journal #5!
