We read this article and then discussed in small groups. If you were absent, for this part of today, please read the article and take good TOK reading notes. Then in Journal #8, come up with 2-3 knowledge questions related to the article and answer one question in detail with two or three main points.
For the second part, we watched the first 35 minutes of Arrival (2016) and thought about possible answers to the 5 Journal Questions. Today we continued talking about language as a way of knowing. We finished Tuesday’s activity and students were tasked with answering two discussion questions in Journal #7 (see below). 1. Write what ways of knowing you used to create the story – explain how too! In addition, did you include any areas of knowledge to develop your story? Why or why not? 2. Make meaning of this activity. Why do this to explore language as a way of knowing? If absent, please listen to the following podcast that brought up some similar points to our class discussion. 1.) Take notes on the interesting points, 2.) write your thoughts and reflections on the points and 3.) when finished listening and reflecting come up with 3 Knowledge Questions the podcast brought up.
