Read the sample essay (get from Maners)-DO NOT KEEP OR MARK ON IT as I only have a class set. a. get out your rubric-come up with a Level and a Mark b. have two reasons for your assessment to share with the class c. if you finish early, start working on 3 & 4 3. Read the common mistakes handout (get from Maners)-keep this one, mark it up, think about what you can fix on your draft to avoid any of these mistakes 4. Start finalizing your essay If absent, please just work on the essay on your own. Upcoming Due Dates: 2/13: Final TOK Essay due to turnitin.com before 10pm Today we created knowledge questions related to Pi. Upcoming Due Dates: 2/13: Final TOK Essay due to turnitin.com before 10pm Today we watched the rest of the movie Pi (1998) by Darren Aronofsky and took notes. If you were absent, watch the rest of the movie (You can find it on your own or make an appointment to view it with me after school on Tuesday, February 11th). Additionally, please see me for the make-up questions you will answer in Journal #22 after you have watched the rest of the film.
Upcoming Due Dates: 2/13: Final TOK Essay due to turnitin.com before 10pm I am out unexpectedly... Here are the plans for you to complete:
1. Please work on with a partner – one that does not sit near you. Please try to find someone you have not worked with a lot or are not good friends with. Get the Knowledge Framework question sheet and fill it out for Mathematics. Be complete and thorough; do not just race to finish. Once finished-around 15 minutes, find another group to compare answers with, write down any of their good ideas in a different color pen and give them credit-around 10 minutes. 2. Next, on your own, spend 5-10 minutes coming up with 3-4 good knowledge questions related to Mathematics. Do this on your own (to practice KQs) and do not look up any on the internet. You can include them on the back of the question sheet. This handout will be included in Journal #22. 3. For the last 20 minutes, the class will start watching the movie, Pi. It is in an unusual format – so while difficult to watch at first, you will get used to it. Take general notes in Journal #22-Pi. If absent, complete steps 1 & 2 on your own and look up the synopsis on the movie Pi-but do not read any spoilers, just read the general ideas on Wikipedia, IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Or if you have a free way to watch the first 20 minutes that will save you make up time with me after school one day. The full information for your search is: Pi: Faith in Chaos (1998) written and directed by Darren Aronofsky. Upcoming Due Dates: 2/13: Final TOK Essay due to turnitin.com before 10pm Today we spent most of the class discussing the KQ your class came up with yesterday. If absent, please write out your own answer to the KQ using elements in a TOK essay Spend about 40 minutes putting something together and writing it out in Journal #21.
Upcoming Due Dates: 2/13: Final TOK Essay due to turnitin.com before 10pm Today we finished one or two more presentations, thought about alternate ways to present the impeachment in History and then crafted a good knowledge question to discuss as a large group tomorrow. If absent, craft an alternative way to present the impeachment of Donald Trump as a historian (alternative – as in different than the way you did it in your group or you saw in a presentation of another group before Finals). Spend about 30 minutes putting something together and writing it out in Journal #21.
